|Payment of Hotel Accounts
Before departure from Hyderabad, participants are expected to settle directly with the respective hotels all accounts, including room charges and other expenses, such as for local and long-distance telephone calls, Internet use, business center use, laundry, room and hotel transportation services, mini-bar items, as well as restaurant and bar services. Participants are also responsible for any charges incurred with respect to rooms remaining vacant owing to their late arrival or rescheduled departure for which inadequate prior notice is given.
A valid passport and visa are required to travel to India. Before departure, participants are requested to ensure that they possess visa for the period of stay in India. Visa supporting letter can be issued on request. Please submit the following information along with a copy of passport to local secretariat coordinator for the visa supporting letter.

ITU requests all participants to ensure medical and travel insurance covering the whole period of the training course and overseas travel. Neither ITU nor TRAI will be able to meet any expenses relating to injury, accident or medical treatment of the participant.
Practical Information about Hyderabad
Hyderabad is a lively 400-year-old metropolis, famous as the former seat of the extremely wealthy Nizams. It is a hot tourist destination. The popular attractions of Hyderabad district are Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Golconda Fort, Hussain Sagar, Jama Masjid, St. Joseph's Cathedral, St. Mary's Church, Planetarium, Falaknuma Palace, Qutub Shahi Tombs, Paigah Tombs, Chote Hazrat Ki Dargah, Nehru Zoological Park.
In southern India, Hyderabad occupies a prominent place in the field of education.
The city of Hyderabad has a tropical climate and temperature ranges from 30°C to 36°C from April to June. The temperature doesn't change much with the change in season, thus providing a moderate temperature in the region. Cotton clothes always go along the weather of Hyderabad.
Hindi is the official language of India but English is widely used throughout the country. Urdu, Hindi and Telugu are the principal languages spoken in Hyderabad. A large percentage of the population is also well-versed in English.

Banks & Currency
The unit of currency is Indian Rupees which comes in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000. Please use authorised money changers and banks to change currency. They will issue a certificate of exchange which is required at the time of re-conversion of any unused currency. Under the Foreign Exchange Management Act 1999, it is an offence to exchange foreign currency other than through authorised money changers or banks. The currency may be exchanged at the airport on arrival. Foreign Exchange Rate is approximately Rs.52.75 to US$ 1 (as on 23 12.2011)
Most bank ATMs honour Visa, Visa Electron, Master & Maestro cards & these ATM cards can be used to withdraw money. Most hotels, shops & other establishments accept credit cards. Master & VISA cards are accepted at almost all such establishments whereas some of them accept Diners & American Express cards as well.
